Where can I find Thee?

The long stretch of grassland between the Pridelands and the Outlands serves as a friendly meeting place for felines. The grass is littered with various wildflowers, some of which are fine to eat whilst others are poisonous. It is known as a good place to hear to gossip and spread a little of your own.

Where can I find Thee?

The sun beat down, scorching the terra and the victims that inhabited it. The beams of sunlight were attracted and congregated around a being of black. The fur of the creature was sleek and shined in the light that gathered to it. Muscles rippled smoothly as paws thudded rhythmically against the grass blanketed earth.

The black panther ran fluently through the grasslands. Bright golden amber orbs kept vigilant as perfectly shaped auds twirling like receivers, catching every little sound. The tom silently panted as he pushed himself further in his search. ’Were is she?’ His path took his to a shallow river that was beginning to disappear in the dry winter sun, but he did not stop. He plunged right in and bounded across. The water cooled him off but he was soon dry again as he made his way under the burning heat.

He ran all day, looking for a queen. It had been moons since he had last seen her. A problem this had presented was that he was addicted to her and his craving for the queen was killing him. He had been at her side constantly, but forced himself to pull away months ago to go look for some old cub hood friends. He had found them and stayed with them for about a week til he was driven to leave and return to her. But he had promised to return to them and try to convince the queen to come as well.

Now for moons he has been searching, pushing himself to the limit. This was not the first day he had run across Wildfang in search of her. He had even gone through the Pridelands, Outlands, even sneaked through rogue territory in his search. He hardly hunted and only did so when he could no longer stand the pain clawing at his stomach. The only time he rested was when he drove himself into unconsciousness. His pelt was beautiful and flawless and his muscles strong, but he was also much thinner then a male panther should be. He could easily be mistaken as a black muscle-bound cheetah.

He pushed on, forcing his aching muscle on as they screamed at him. He was passing an old eaten kill when his paw caught on a bone and he crashed into the skeleton head first and rolled across the ground, crashing into a cluster of rocks. He struggled to his feet and shook the dirt from his pelt. Blood slowly oozed from shallow cuts covering his entire front; everywhere from on his face, his muscular chest, along his front legs and down to his paws and pads. Simultaneously, he had also sprain his back paw and ha a gash upon his flank, blood already running down his leg, over his swollen paw and pooled.

His rough pink tongue cleaned away the blood from around his maw, showing his white fangs. He growled, now angry at him self. In one stupid incident, it looked like he just escaped from a fight with a couple lions. He went to take a step forward when he stumbled. He braced himself as his head suddenly swam. He swayed dizzily before he shook his skull and momentarily regained balance. Slowly he limped to a near by tree. He dragged him self into the shade and collapsed panting. His head throbbed crazily like his racing heart. His whole body shuddered. Pain shot through the back of his skull where he had slammed it upon a boulder. He drifted to near unconsciousness. Though his whole body was in pain, he fought to stay away. His lids were half closed as his sight blurred slightly. He silently listened to the world around his as his body gave another shudder. He released a snarl, angry at himself to have ended up in such a sorry and weak state.

He gave a huff, unable to do anything else. He ignored the pain and let his thoughts take him away. He thought of his family who he had not seen since he was a cub. He then thought of his years in suclusion after he had run away from his pride at a year old. He remembered being driven to leave after two and a half years from his new home in search of the company of other cats. He smiled as it lead to the memories of when he first met the queen he had nearly killed him self searching for. He did not notice the flowing lyrics that escaped his maw as he sighed. “Miri…”

I felt heat flow over my back, my rusty colored pelt growing brighter and more orange in the sunlight. Amber orbs mixed with emerald green cast their dreamy glance over the horizon. Aiming for no where, I continued walking onwards.

My attempt to set things right back at Priderock with Naka had failed hopelessly. Instead, I had run into her daughter. The daughter my mother saved before she fell to her death. Images of Spear's limp body had flashed through my mind many times, but the pain was easing now.
With the drama of my mother's death now over, I had nothing to focus on. For I, Miri, had no pride that I belonged too. No friends to protect from rogues. No mate to start a family with.

As I thought of this, the image of that somewhat familiar black panther entered my mind. I stopped, the air heavy with heat and full with the buzz of insects. No wind stirred the tall grass that parted at my sides. My orbs squinted as I tried to remember him.
His muscular appearance, his kind, warm orbs.

I looked forwards. A tree stood standing tall, providing flimsy shade for the tom. I cocked my head, only then realising I had found him. The tom I had too soon given up on. It was Wyrinn.

I quietly padded up towards him, a gentle smile spreading on my mask. I just heard him whisper my name.

Ah. You remember me, I said softly as I looked down at the tom.

I sat down, my orbs dancing over his wounds. I bent my head down and nuzzled my head to his. My heart ached with how much I had missed this tom. And I hadn't even realised it.

His thoughts had began to repeat themselves, so he just let them fall away and watched the world swim through half opened orbs. His vision began to clear as the pain in his skull began to subside. His chain flicked and his auds twitched absentmindedly as he lay there.

His auds suddenly perked as he heard lyrics he had longed for. In his searching, he had not found her, but now she had found him, and in a pathetic state. He turned his sights upon the tigress and a sly grin played upon his maw. “Who could forget about a cunning vix like you?” He chuckled. He gazed to who he knew to be a frisky queen. Though through this he did not move a single part of his body, he raised his skull and nuzzled her back best he could before resting his head back upon the earth.

I smiled at his words, my emerald orbs soft as silk.
They dance over the somewhat fragile and wounded body, taking in every scar and every pelt mark on him. I wanted to know and learn this tom. When his head touched me, a warm wave of emotion flooded through me. It was like he was the only cat who seemed to understand me, or at least want to understand me.
I lay myself beside him, feeling much larger and bulkier compared to him in his state.

We have to get you fixed up, Wyrinn. I purred softly.

Within a flick of my thick chain, I had returned with a small zebra. It's pelt was covered in the sandy ground from dragging it back to the tom. It had been an easy hunt. I had lay low in the towering grass, blending right in. The unfortunate creature had been lazily grazing, not paying any attention to the outside world whatsoever.
My jaw was stained red. I unsheathed my long talons, slicing away at it to make it a little less effortless for Wyrinn.
Food would help. As for water, we were nowhere near it. The wounds I couldn't fix. Perhaps Skye would agree to help him.

It's all I can offer right now, I said quietly, looking at him sideways.

Through my mind a million questions came.

He nodded in agreement when Miri’s lyrics purred into his thorns. He had a bit of a question look when she suddenly left, but said nothing. It wasn’t like he could do anything in his current state. So he let his orbs drift shut. He was thankful that the sun was beginning set as the shade of the tree he lay under grew thicker, denser and larger, providing him with complete shelter from the from the sun now. Not even a narrow shaft escaped through the thick branched still full of dried leaves.

The scent of blood and a fresh kill caused him to open his orbs and strain to see where the source was. If front of him stood Miri with a half year old zebra fool dangling in her jaws. I watched as she cut the flesh with her talons. He knew what she was doing it for and inside he was resentful. He felt like a cub again, but he pushed the feeling away. He knew that she was doing it out of kindness and had to admit that it would help.

He smiled when she offered it to him. He did his best to pull himself up and licked away some of the blood around Miri’s maw before he couldn’t support himself any longer and he was back on the ground. Sore and bruised, he started to eat the small meal. He kept his orbs on Miri, them saying that she could join since it was her kill.

I sighed, gazing weakly into the tom's magical eyes. I was hooked. Stunned. Dazzled.I couldn't tear away my stare from him.
I dug into the meal below me, leaving plenty for Wyrinn. Once I had finished, I pushed the animal closer to him, letting him know I was done.
Words flashed through my mind, but none could describe the feeling I had for this tom.

So, Wyrinn, what are you here for? I said. My voice was so gentle, the what could seem like a 'rude' sentence sounded sweet and caring.

I didn't have anything to say. More like I couldn't find the right words to say.

I looked up at the brillant blue sky, golden rays of sunlight beating down. I snapped my gazed back on Wyrinn, a warm feeling flooding me.

ooc: terrible, sorry

I ate and finished what Miri hadn’t. I had never realized how much I had starved myself in m freantic search. The search. Yes. I realized I had found her and I had nearly forgot my purpose til her lyrics danced softly towards my auds. I pulled my self to sit, coming eye level to her. No matter how much pain I was in, it didn’t matter, I was with her.

”Remember when I left, I had to find someone? .. no, it wasn’t another queen" he spoke the last line lower, just incase the thought had come to her. ”Well, I found him and his brother. They had been my friends as I grew up. Anyway, I have found that they have formed a group to go against Switchblade. They asked me to join, but I could not stay away from you..”

I looked away and laid down, no longer able to support myself. ”I am torn. I am loyal to them, more even then my own family, but.. I also don’t want to leave your side.
I.. love you

ooc: sorry if my previous post didn't make sense in parts, I was getting 'I, me, myself' all mixed up with 'her, she' etc haha

Miri

The words hit me like tonne of boulders. The three worded sentence that I had so longingly wanted to hear I had heard. I sort of.. half smiled, a puzzled look playing on my face. Why wasn't I overjoyed? Leaping with happiness?

I leapt from my postition, ran forwards a little, and paced up and down. Clearly annoyed. Why was everything so difficult for me? I snarled, angry at myself. I shot a glance at Wyrinn, then looked down at my paws and said;

It's not you, it's me, before I could hurt his feelings.

It wasn't soon before I was pacing up and down again in the little clearing, the surrounding sea of tall grass making a wall between us and the outside world. He would want an explination for this, I thought.
I stopped suddenly, my glittering orbs (slighty teary now) focusing on his handsome face.

I've got two choices here. Don't say I don't, because I know I do. I can go with you, or stay here, trying to fix things. I mumbled.

Look, my mothe-... Spear would have wanted me to be loyal to Priderock, you see. I don't know if she'd be too pleased to find out I have joined the rebels. It's just that... being loyal to Priderock is kind of hard and all, with the lead having a grudge on you. I half smiled again, trying so hard it came out as an old looking grimace.

I sighed, flopping down next to him. I knew the path I wanted, I just had things in my way.

I shrugged, thinking of no other option.

Persuade me to come with you,
